DR SHARMILA LOGATHAS
founder and clinical psychologist

I’m the founder of Intentional Psychology. I believe that people thrive when they can build connection to themselves and others, and are most most fulfilled when they are working towards living in ways that align with their most meaningful values.

My aim is to first provide you with a collaborative, non-judgemental and empathic way of reflecting on and understanding your current difficulties, whilst working with you in making changes in valued directions.

I recognise the importance of wider influences and power on our personal well-being and incorporate ideas from community and intersectional feminist psychology in my work. Creativity and connecting with you on a human level are important to me and I often use humour, narrative storytelling and art in my work to emphasise ideas and perspectives.

I’m a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist with more than fifteen years’ experience. Most recently, I have also qualified as a Fair Play facilitator which aligns with my personal values around equality and justice.

I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London and hold a Honours degree in Psychology from Leicester University and a Masters in Mental Health Services Research from King’s College London. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and regularly update my skills and knowledge through supervision and training.

I have experience of working with people with a wide range of difficulties across the lifespan, in particular those with more complex and enduring difficulties such as trauma or people assigned diagnoses such as personality disorder.

Although I work privately I can work effectively alongside both private and NHS colleagues such as your GP or psychiatrist to provide you with a comprehensive service.
